    Part of the effort to go and stay green in our society is the movement to grow one's own food.  In one Piedmont Triad community, Mark is a part of a local church group with some plants in cultivation.  These ears of corn are nearly ready for harvest.

     Musician Daniel Rassum, resident of Indianapolis, is considering moving to the Piedmont Triad area.  An accomplished guitar player, he is playing in a variety of venues in the state before deciding whether to move to the area.  This afternoon Daniel plays an outdoor gig in front of a local ice cream store in Winston-Salem.

     Fire department and ambulance units responded late Monday evening, August 26, to a call from a local business.  One individual was taken to the hospital from the scene.

        Anytime of the day or night, fire alarms go off, alerting the fire department of potential dangers to the public.  Using a ladder truck, these two firefighters are inspecting the roof of a building for hazards while the building's alarm is sounding.  Thankfully, there was no fire in the building.
